What you need to know about caring for our Hair Extensions before taking the leap to get them.
Strand by Strand extensions are the way to go for all hair textures! There are 4 steps to follow to keep your keratin bonded to ring extensions perfect!
1) WASH your hair as often as necessary to remove oil and product build up. Use a clarifying shampoo at least once per week. Clarifying shampoo removes residue and oil. Clarifying shampoo will keep the keratin bonding and/or ring extensions strong and they will not slip out of the hair. It is not unusual to loose an extension here or there do not worry if you do.
2) BRUSH hair thoroughly from roots to ends. This ensure the extensions do not tangle near the attachment. You can use a Loop Brush which keeps the extensions hanging separately and not intertwining. Natural Boars Bristle Brush will promote shine and is a gentle way to brush through the extension hair.
3) BLOW DRY hair 100%. Natural hair is weakest when wet and it is important to dry your hair to avoid damage. Also, the hair extensions can slip if you leave your hair wet for too long. When swimming leave your hair down and let it air dry in the sun.
4) FLAT IRON and curl iron at least one inch away from the extension attachment. Thermal heat will damage the keratin bonding and/or the ring attachment. It is fine to use thermal heat, but be sure to section your hair in two inch sections and flat iron one section at a time.
Professionals will only use REMY hair extensions, which means the cuticle of the hair is going in one direction. This is a superior hair quality and will ensure tangle free hair for the recommended wearing of 4 to 5 months. Some salons choose cheaper hair and sell it at a huge discount but the quality isnt there and they dont last.
