Simple Way To Grow Your Hair & Trichotillomania

It seems like an epidemic, so many suffering from hair loss men and women alike.   Many of my clients with hair loss have been through a myriad of blood work, doctors visits and scalp biopsies only to be diagnosed with "Alopecia" simply put hair loss.  They try supplements, cortisone shots,  PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) treatments to find their hair simply will not grow.  Some hair loss is attributed to genetics, and if a hair follicle is not producing hair, it may impossible to promote hair growth.  I will not give up on science and a discovery to eventually grow hair.

The three stages of hair growth are the anagen, catagen, and telogen phases. Each strand of hair on the human body is at its own stage of development. Once the cycle is complete, it restarts and hair growth begins.  Essentially, our hair is growing and shedding, The problem occurs when our hair gets stuck in the shedding phase and is no longer growing (Catagen phase).  Blood supply is cut off to the hair follicle and the hair sheds and does not grow.  This can happen for many reasons such as hormonal issues, menopause, stress, illness, rapid weight loss, surgery and medication.

As a hair loss specialist, I work with many clients experiencing the above!  Over the years I have found that massaging the scalp has been the most simple way to grow back your hair.  I have witnessed clients with hair loss embark on a journey of consistent head massage and the results have produced hair growth.  Part of this is because clients with hair loss tend to avoid over touching, brushing or massaging their scalp.  Massaging the scalp increases blood supply to the hair follicle and can push the hair out of the shedding phase back to the growth phase.

DISCLAIMER:  This does not necessarily work for female or male pattern balding.

What to do:

1) Start by massaging your scalp daily for at least 5 to 10 minutes.  This will loosen the scalp and allow for blood to circulate.

2) The pads of your fingers are the best for massage!  I would not invest in fancy scalp massagers because they are not vigorous.

3) Go for a weekly head massage, where your scalp is stimulated for at least 1/2 hour.

4) Have your salon perform a scalp treatment and ask for a long vigorous shampoo during your service.

The added benefit of a scalp massage is deep relaxations which helps eliminate stress!  Some believe stress is a factor in hair loss.

I have a client that had gastric bypass surgery and lost a lot of her hair due to rapid weight loss & poor nutrition.  She started massaging her hair daily with 2 tablespoons of Jojoba oil and 3 drops of rosemary oil, within 4 months her hair started to grow back!  Her rapid hair growth was miraculous unlike other clients that had gastric bypass surgery and still suffer from thinning hair.

I hope you try this, and welcome your feedback!
