Where Can Hairstylists Get Hair Extensions?

So many hairstylists are working alone these days; some work in a salon suite or rent-a-chair in a salon where other stylists can not do their hair extensions!  At our salon, we have had the opportunity to work with these stylists, and it is so gratifying!  It is such a compliment that other hairstylists trust us to apply for their hair extensions.  We believe that stylists should support other stylists.  Case in point, Aurora's beautiful client (see below) is also a hair extensionist and she was referred to us by one of our customers.  She works in a salon where the other hairstylist does not work with hair extensions.  She brought in her own Babe hair extensions which were keratin bonded, we also showed her our brand of keratin hair extensions.

We Speak The Same Language

Having an expert sitting in your chair may sound intimidating, but that could not be further from the truth.  A fellow hairstylist understands the process, is able to weigh in on their needs, and the conversation is endless.  We often share salon stories, as well as hair tips and tricks.  We can always learn from each other which makes the experience super exciting.

Sharing Our Expertise

It's quite comforting to work on another stylist's hair, in this case, we loved her hair color - we shared hair color formulas.  Aurora was able to show her our new hair extension design (Veila pull-thru hair extensions), the technique was new to her and we are able to train her in this technique if she so chooses.

I have many clients that are hairstylists, and I have learned so much from them.  I have learned about hair products, hair color lines, and cutting techniques.  One client showed me her hair extension cutting technique which was so helpful, I use it all the time.

Reciprocity

Working in a hair salon does not guarantee your own hair will be colored, etc.  We are often the last person to get their hair service done because the other stylists are busy.  There have been many times that I visit other stylists for hair color, it is wonderful to be a guest at a salon, and receive star treatment.  There is no interference or rushing, and so relaxing.

It is not unusual to refer clients to other salons for services we do not specialize in.  We never feel competitive, there are so many clients for everyone to earn a living.
